Boston-based company Source Audio’s Hot Hand is one way to affect the wah. The oh-so-cool thing about how all this works is a two-axis accelerometer built into the ring that senses its orientation as well as movement. Adjusting the ring vertically (hand pointed down vs up in the air) results in a sweep of frequencies from low to high. Shaking the ring also results in a sweeping signal, but relative to the intensity of the shaking and the ring’s orientation.
Maschine has been the Native Instruments go-to standard for music creation for the past couple of years. The company recently introduced Maschine Mikro as a physically-smaller (yet still incredibly powerful) version of the original. This time, it’s all about iPhone. iMaschine is a $5 application, available now in the App Store, that brings the looping, sampling and effects power of Maschine to your iPhone. It’s insanely packed with abilities, and appears to work quite well from the demo videos that we’ve seen thus far. (via iMASCHINE brings production power to your iPhone for $5 - TNW Apps)
